So mark your calendars for 9/25 and 30 PDX and Seattle!  Steve considers his old Texas pal Johnny Nicholas “one of the best blues singers and players alive” and the opportunity for them to share a concert bill counts as a special event since Steve moved NW  Solo and duet performances featuring classic and original songs.  Git with it!

October 8  Seattle  Dusty Strings   Group guitar class   The “Blues/Roots Tool Box” theme is a favorite.  Using compact fingerstyle song arrangements as a vehicle, Steve will detail useful chord shapes, runs and rhythmic patterns essential to the blues guitar sound.  For reservations and info, call the music shop at 206 634 1662

October 27  Houston Texas  Anderson Fair  A welcome return for Steve to this venerable Lone Star folk haven for a solo concert. Always a good time.   www.andersonfair.net

October 28   Austin Texas   Ham Jam House Concerts   SJ recorded most of his “Live Volume 1” album the last time he played this superb concert space.  It’s real nice, but it ain’t real big, so get tix and info in advance at www.hamjamhouse.com

October 29  Plano Texas   Texasfolk House Concerts    SJ did a show for Dallas folkie host with the most Joe Jones about 15 years ago and they’ve been trying on and off to get another one together ever since.  This is it!  texasfolkconcerts@mail.com

November 5  Seattle  Dusty Strings  For this hands-on group class, the theme will be Open Tunings and Bottleneck Slide Guitar and the session will be devoted to classic blues/roots themes.  206 634 1662 for info/reservations.

December 10  Seattle  Back home for one more guitar workshop at Dusty Strings, this one devoted to a couple of carefully chosen “desert island” guitar solos from the classic blues/roots repertoire.  206 634 1662…and while you’re at it, ask about the upcoming Dusty Strings annual winter concert featuring Steve with Del Rey and special guest Suzy Thompson on February 3rd
